I never ever read magazines, I can’t stand them. I hate them, unless they're kind of - I don’t know something really dull like, er … if you want to buy a camera or something, and you're looking at magazines, trying f…, or a computer, to find out what’s going on at the moment, but all th… all magazines ... but I mean … they just wind me up. Er … I occasionally read Metro, which is the free one, which you just find lying about, but not … no, not really.

How to improve your listening

1 Listen to Daniel without stopping. Do not read the tapescript. Try to understand as much as you can.

2 Now read the tapescript. Check any new words in your dictionary.

3 Listen to Daniel again, and as you listen, read the tapescript.

4 Listen once again, but this time, without the tapescript.

Is it easier to understand Daniel now? If not, repeat Steps 3 and 4.
