GARDEN IMAGE BANK

TOOL GRAB

Pin up a suitable selection of the garden pictures all around the room, spread well apart. Explain to the class that you will say something about doing some work in the garden, and they should run and get you the most appropriate garden tool (or item) as quickly as they can. Example garden chores could include the following:

  • The plants need watering.
  • It's dirty work pulling up weeds.
  • The hedge needs trimming.
  • The grass needs cutting.

If you wish, you can also prepare your learners to reply with suitable phrases as they 'grab' suitable tools. For example;

  • I'll get you the watering can.
  • I'll get your gardening gloves.
  • I'll get you the shears.
  • I'll get you the lawnmower.
