FRUIT IMAGE BANK

RUN AND TOUCH

Pin up all the fruit pictures all around the room, spread well apart. Tell the class that you will call out the name of a fruit, and they should run and touch it as quickly as they can. If you wish, you can vary this by calling out different types of instruction:

  • Run and touch a fruit that has pips.
  • Run and touch a fruit that is yellow.
  • Run and touch a fruit that you can peel.
  • Run and touch a fruit that you don't like.

CATEGORISING FRUITS

Pin up all the fruit pictures on the board, and divide the class into groups of three learners. Explain to the class that each group should categorise all the different fruits. To get the class started, give one or two examples of how they could do this (e.g. fruits we like / fruits we import / fruits that you cook). When they are ready, ask each group to explain to the class how they categorised the fruits and their reasons why.

How have YOU used these pictures with your classes?
If you would like to suggest other ways to use them with learners, send us your ideas and we will publish them here.
